Due to the unplanned nature of patient attendance, our department provides initial treatment for a broad spectrum of illnesses and injuries including life threatening conditions requiring immediate attention and our staff is well-prepared to meet the demands of the emergency room. The families are also catered with sympathy and every care to meet their emotional needs is fulfilled. We are open 24/7 week.
SERVICES:
For the triage of presenting patients depending upon the seriousness of their illnesses, the department is divided into a number of separate areas:
RESUSCITAT ROOM
This area is used for the treatment of seriously ill or injured patients.
MAJOR THEATMENT AREA
This area is used for the assessment and treatment of patients with illnesses and injuries which do not require the facilities of the resuscitation room but may be too unwell to be placed in the waiting room or to be directly transferred to the care of an Outpatient Department physician.
PEDIATRIC AREA
- Separate treatment cubicles are provided for our younger patients.
- A negative-pressure isolation room
- To prevent cross-contamination of illnesses.
